Hello, my name is Danny Guy, and I’m the Jaguar Project Leader (best project to be part of) which is based in Tortuguero National Park. I started as an intern in June 2016, and somehow convinced everyone I would be good as the Jaguar Project Leader from January 2017.
Before coming to Costa Rica I was a computer aided design (CAD) technician with a BSc in Sustainable design and innovation, slightly different to what I’m doing now. Every year I used to travel to see different kinds of animals in the wild traveling to South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Borneo. By volunteering in these different places I’ve managed to gain invaluable experience to make up for my lack of qualifications in conservation and last year I decided to change my career to something I love.
